The 28th annual San Luis Salute, hosted by The Fertitta Family, amassed riotous praise and revelry as partygoers from across the world flocked together to celebrate this year’s Mardi Gras! With only 2,000 seats available, the party of the year in Galveston sold out within hours.
The San Luis Salute benefits The University of Texas Medical Branch’s mission of advancing medical research, improving patient care, and fostering educational excellence. This year’s honoree was Dr. Jochen Reiser, President and CEO of UTMB.
This memorable night kicked off with an exclusive, invitation-only Champagne pre-party honoring the 2025 Knights of Momus Royal Court - held dockside at Fertitta’s $150 million, 77-meter superyacht, The Boardwalk.
At the main celebration, attendees were transported to Emerald City with a Wicked-inspired theme, “A Night in Oz”, inside the Galveston Island Convention Center. Partygoers were mesmerized as the dramatic curtain rose to reveal characters resembling Glinda, Elphaba, the flying monkeys, and more. The décor featured a dazzling array of sequined green tables and elaborate floral and candelabra centerpieces, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. Partygoers indulged in a multi-course feast crafted by the culinary team of The San Luis and Landry’s as they enjoyed a night of revelry.
Flo Rida electrified the stage with a high-energy performance. The excitement reached new heights when 50 Cent made a surprise appearance, thrilling the crowd with a duo performance.
Through this annual celebration, San Luis Salute helps to ensure that UTMB continues to serve as a leader in healthcare and innovation for the region and beyond.
